Aspen, as in most geographical locations, has a breadth of residential architectural styles. Locally you can find everything from rustic European to log cabin, mountain manor to mountain chateau and, of course, the newly popularized mountain contemporary. The later has typically found its home in urban settings but as the demand for uber modern residences grows, so does the desire for them in Aspen.

Residential Architecture in Aspen

We have had the pleasure of being part of this trend and are currently working on a gorgeous contemporary mountain home, just outside of town on the way to Independence Pass. This 5400 square foot abode has unique custom features that accentuate the site’s natural features – such as stunning views and abundant natural light. One such feature is a pitched back roof – allowing for the largest expanse of glass to take in the beauty of the surroundings.  The entry area has two oversized windows bringing in natural light and a fun “barrel” roof frames the space and sets it apart from the rest. Finally the large deck on the second level is completely cantilevered to create an unobstructed patio below, allowing residents and guest to take in the sights and bask in the sun while begin protected from the elements.
