As we help build the skyline and neighborhoods of Aspen, we also have a strong commitment to supporting the people and community that makes our home such a special place. One of our team members, Wheeler Clancy, supports local non-profit, The Buddy Program, by being a big buddy to a local child. He also lent his architectural skills to design and build an auction item for the annual Buddy Bash fundraising event last month. It was a residential project for furry friends.
David Johnston describes the project eloquently by stating, “Utilizing simple, pure architecture, DJA has created an efficient, elegant dog house design suitable for any and all environments. The most striking aspect is the play between solid and transparent walls, allowing for both seclusion and observation for the dog tenant. The extended porch surface and sloping porch roof encourages an indoor/outdoor experience, while the mobility of the house itself promotes versatility and variety of locations. The finished dog house emphasizes form and function in its purist methodology, and a welcome addition to any dog’s life.”
The dog house was one of four that were designed by local architecture firms. DJA raised nearly $3,000 for the Buddy Program.
We want to thank GM Johnson Construction for their support in the project.
